A purpose-driven microbiological and consulting firm seeks a talented content marketing manager to coordinate strategic communications and supervise content creation that engages prospects, advances brand recognition, and promotes customer loyalty. This talented, upbeat and collaborative individual must possess exceptional communication skills (verbal and writing), organizational skills, and project management experience. Duties include supervising the creative and production process from concept to delivery and to ensure consistent messaging internally and externally. This position is highly collaborative and requires demonstrated leadership with creative teams.


Position Description

The content marketing manager manages creative projects, oversees the communication and production process for print collateral and digital content, including the company newsletter, website, email campaigns etc. for internal and external audiences. This position shepherds the creative and publication process from concept through delivery, ensures consistent messaging across all platforms, and is responsible for managing project deadlines. The content marketing manager is the liaison among the firm and the key contact for new and ongoing print and digital (social media, web) projects. The content marketing manager oversees and coordinates the creative team of contractors. This position requires strong project management, hands-on writing and editing, the ability to define and implement content marketing strategies and, collaboration with customers and employees. The ideal candidate will have strong creative team management experience and the ability to balance priorities and meet multiple deadlines.  Remote work options are available.


Essential Functions

  • Coordinate the production of high-quality articles, white papers, blogs, press releases, email marketing, case studies, social media, and web copy.
  • Continuously measure and improve content performance leveraging Google Analytics, HubSpot and social media analytics tools.
  • Build and maintain editorial calendar and written guidelines.
  • Manage outsourced creative resources including designers and writers
  • Work with sales to develop content strategies and materials to support the sales cycle.
  • Keep up with current industry trends and topics to ensure effective communications.
  • Copy, edit, and review content for messaging, style guidelines, brand consistency, and voice
  • Develop and maintain editorial calendars and content project plans and determine metrics for ensuring effectiveness of marketing content.
  • Ensure that all communications adhere to brand and communications standards and are written in a consistent "voice".
  • Provide accurate and timely project reporting on all content marketing activities.
  • Manage social media presence to grow followers and engagement
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create effective content and marketing strategies


Secondary or Additional Responsibilities

  • Content creation as assigned by president
  • Monitor brand online.
  • Ensure effective SEO optimization
  • Responsible for maintaining the marketing budget
  • Collaborate with CMO of JS Technologies on messaging, marketing campaigns and communication strategies that promote products and services of SPL (laboratory and consulting) and JS Technologies (software and education)

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in marketing, communications, journalism or related discipline
  • Demonstrated writing, editing, and proofreading experience
  • 6+ years of content marketing or direct copywriting experience Preferred Education and Experience

  • Proven experience managing marketing collateral and digital production from concept to delivery.

This position is responsible for maintaining the marketing budget.


Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, photocopiers and smartphones.


Physical Demands

Hand, eye and mental coordination is required for long uninterrupted periods of time while standing or sitting.


Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Travel

Little to no travel is expected for this position.
